Position Description
Kinder Morgan is one of countries largest midstream infrastructure companies in the United States with over 79,000 miles of pipelines that transports over 40 percent of all natural gas consumed in the United States. As a member of the Kinder Morgan Tax Department, you will be part of a team of tax professionals responsible for all aspects of the company’s tax posture. A Kinder Morgan Tax Analyst II will be asked to perform the following job functions:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Analyze different components of the fixed asset process for depreciation, tax gains and losses
-Prepare the required statement and elections otherwise includable in the federal income tax return
Preparation of state income and franchise tax returns with specific emphasis on the following: -Exposure to unitary, nexus combined, and separate company state income tax and apportionment computations
-Exposure to state franchise tax computations and issuesPreparation of federal and state estimated payments and extensionsPreparation of tax basis balance sheetsAssembling documentation used in state income and franchise tax auditsAssist with preparation of ASC 740 documentation and calculation of federal and state income tax provisionResearch of federal and state tax technical issuesRespond to notices from federal and state taxing authorities

Experience
Five or more years of experience at a public accounting firm or seven years of experience working for a large corporate tax departmentEducation
Bachelor’s degree in AccountingCertified Public Accountant Preferred
