We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented contractor to support our Tax Department. The role will focus on assisting with indirect tax compliance, tax accounting, and internal tax advisory matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate tax, indirect tax (GST/HST), and working with cross-functional accounting teams.
ResponsibilitiesPerform general ledger reconciliations for tax-related accounts.Collaborate with the corporate accounting team to ensure standalone financial statements are accurate for tax reporting and compliance.Prepare and review GST/HST returns and related working papers.Support responses to internal tax advisory queries from the business, with a focus on indirect tax.Assist in preparing the tax note and disclosures for audited financial statements.Conduct sample-based reviews of system transactions to ensure correct application of tax methodologies and compliance with tax policies.Essential SkillsGreat understanding of Canadian Tax.5-7 years of experience in relevant field.Strong Excel Skills (Pivot Tables, V-Look Up).Additional Skills & QualificationsCorporate Accounting Experience.CPA certification.Work Environment
You will be part of a small tax team, reporting in a straightforward and direct environment. The role requires working five days a week in the office, which is transit accessible. The team consists of two members, creating a focused and collaborative work environment.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
