Tax Analyst

Applications will be accepted up to 90 days after the posting date, or until the position is filled (whichever is first). **Job Summary:** This position is responsible for assisting and supporting the tax department for Vail Resorts Inc. and all of its subsidiaries. This position will work as part of a greater team and will support all aspects of tax including but not limited to compliance, research, planning, and process optimizations. **Job Specifications:** + Starting Wage: $65,000- $80,000 + Employment Type: Year Round + Shift Type: Full Time hours available + Housing Availability: No **Job Responsibilities:** + Support the automation of the income tax return, sales and use tax returns and provision processes including utilization of Alteryx and other third-party software. + Assist with the completion of all federal, foreign and state income tax returns, disclosures and elections including the underlying workpapers supporting return positions. + Prepare the state and local tax apportionment reports. + Calculate estimated payment calculations for multiple jurisdictions and assist with payments. + Support the non-US tax return preparation process. + Research and resolve tax notices, audits, and projects. + Prepare and/or review tax depreciation files. + Assist with ASC 740 analysis including annualized effective tax rate, provision to return, quarterly and annual calculations, for Vail Resorts and various additional stand-alone provisions. + Assist with all tax planning, including working with third parties to design, execute, and measure tax planning strategies. + Other duties as assigned. **Job Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. + Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Excel. + Experience with Alteryx, SQL and/or other data analytics software. + Two plus years of direct and/or indirect tax experience in either public accounting or a public company. + Basic understanding and experience with FAS 109/ASC 740. + Advanced analytical skills. + Professional and articulate communication both verbally and written. + Ability to balance multiple complex assignments. + Knowledge of accounting, the U.S. tax systems, and tax compliance law. + Proficient in financial reporting/tax return compliance software. + CPA license or Master’s Degree is desirable.
