 About the role:

As a VAT Claim Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing Beneficial Tax (VAT) processes to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and improve tax reclaims. This role involves analyzing financial data, identifying eligible VAT claims, preparing documentation, and collaborating with internal team members to enhance tax efficiency.

This role requires a meticulous and diligent professional with a solid understanding of VAT regulations and compliance processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Moreover, you will be responsible about ensure tax legislation and Diageo global standards are strictly followed and correctly applied across Diageo teams, guarantee processes and systems are aligned to Tax and Statutory requirements to get in compliance with Tax Authorities doing the right things the right way.

Accountabilities

Stay up-to-date with VAT regulations and ensure the organization's compliance with applicable laws.Conduct regular reviews of transactions to identify potential VAT issues and address them proactively.Analyze financial data to identify eligible VAT claims and opportunities for tax savings.Prepare and submit accurate and timely VAT reclaim documentation to tax authorities.Maintain organized and detailed records of all VAT-related transactions and documentation.Ensure that documentation meets the standards required for audits and compliance checks.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, and legal, to gather necessary information and ensure accurate VAT ReportingProvide guidance to internal collaborators on VAT-related matters.Identify potential risks related to VAT compliance and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.Advise on standard methodologies to minimize the impact of changes in tax regulations on the organization.Generate regular reports on VAT activities, including reclaimed amounts, potential risks, and compliance status.

Critical Finance Capabilities 

Analytical skills and problem solving orientedCritical thinking and prioritizationAccounting systems: SAP (preferable), AS400, Oracle, othersAttention to detail and organized.Excel skills

Qualifications / experience 

Certified public accountant, postgraduate studies in taxes (desired).Demonstrated experience in VAT compliance and reclaim processes or Tax compliance, monthly close activities, balance sheet review and taxes advisory.Proficient in using financial software and Excel.Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations
