How will you make an impact in this role?
This position, based in Mexico City, will lead all aspects of Tax Advisory and Planning with the support of 2 other team members for all Mexican legal entities.
· Overall responsibility for providing strategic tax advice on a timely basis to all lines of businesses and legal entities covering corporate income tax, transfer pricing and indirect tax taking into account current and proposed legislation.
· Collaborate with international tax teams on global initiatives impacting the Mexican legal entities.
· Work collaboratively with the tax controversy team to define the technical tax criteria to be adopted during tax authority and statutory audits.
· Identify tax savings opportunities either independently or in conjunction with advisors
· Identify and communicate potential exposures on a timely basis
· Identify and communicate impacts of proposed legislation on a timely basis
· Represent the Tax department with Senior Leaders and the Executive team in Mexico on all Tax Planning & Advisory Matters.
· Overall responsibility for review of third party and intercompany agreements ensuring tax implications are minimized and appropriate support for transactions is maintained.
Minimum Qualifications
· Post-secondary degree in law or accounting with a minimum 12+ years’ experience in Corporate Income Tax, VAT and Transfer Pricing.
· Experience in providing tax advisory for multinational companies (preferably in the financial services industry)
· Experience in managing other tax professionals.
· Strong interpersonal skills, natural collaborator who can engage with multiple stakeholders and senior leaders.
· Experience with a Big 4 firm and/or multinational in the financial sector is preferred.
· Advanced English, written and spoken.
