The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for monitoring the key-dates schedule to ensure timely filing of accurate tax returns, reviewing tax accounts to maintain accuracy in financial reporting, and helping sustain the efficiency of the company’s tax strategy.
This position reports to the Tax Director and is part of the Finance Department. This is an on-site role located in either Fargo, North Dakota or in Madison, Wisconsin
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Prepare and file Aldevron’s local and state tax returns, including sales, use, property, and commercial activity taxes, while ensuring compliance and timely license renewals.
Support Danaher’s consolidated tax reporting by submitting subsidiary data, preparing ASC740 provisions, and maintaining accurate journal entries and reconciliations.
Analyze intercompany transactions and forecasts to ensure proper transfer pricing, monitor I/C margins, and manage tax reserves and audit documentation in Olympus.
Partner with HR, Payroll, and external advisors to assess tax implications of workforce changes, validate exemption certificates, and respond to audits and tax authority inquiries.
Lead tax planning and risk mitigation efforts, including research, standard work development, refund opportunities, and R&D tax credit support.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
Minimum of 3 years of tax experience in either public accounting or a corporate environment
At least 1 year of hands-on experience with sales and use tax compliance, including return preparation, filing, and exemption validation
The selected candidate will possess the following:
Understanding of GAAP vs. Tax differences, with practical application skills.
Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to quickly adopt new tax technologies.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
a CPA Certification with a master's degree in taxation/business
Experience with D365, CorpTax, and Avalara
