Tax Accountant - Income Tax
Support Center - Irving

The Tax Accountant - Income Tax will work with the domestic and international income tax teams, calculating extension, withholding, and estimated tax payments, preparing income, franchise, and excise tax returns and wire transfers, researching tax technical issues, and assisting with audits.

Major Activities

Prepare federal, state, and international income tax returns, extensions, estimated taxes, and ASC 740 tax provisions, including calculating book-tax differences and supporting workpapersCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders to complete federal, state, and international income/franchise tax audits:Respond to notices and gather dataPrepare support schedulesResearch tax issuesDraft correspondence with taxing authoritiesCollaborate with outside advisors to complete auditsGather and validate information for multi-state apportionment and state modificationsCalculate foreign tax withholding payments and prepare information reportsPrepare monthly and quarterly intercompany wire transfersCalculate monthly and annual intercompany transfer pricing chargesPrepare monthly and quarterly tax account analyses and reconciliationsAnalyze and update tax fixed asset ledger                                           Prepare Quarterly Federal Excise Tax Return (Form 720)Prepare amended returns, claims for tax refunds, and statistical/informational reports as neededResearch tax technical issues and investigate accounting entries for proper tax treatmentAssist with special projects

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills

Strong knowledge and application of accounting principlesProficient in Excel and the Microsoft suite

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

3+ years in area of corporate income tax accounting or compliance involving large, multi-jurisdictional environments with a global public accounting firm or large corporation

Other

Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-project, deadline-driven environment and working with minimal supervisionExcellent organizational, time management, and analytical skillsEffective interpersonal and communication skills and enthused by working as part of a team

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceMaster’s degree in Tax
 

Preferred Special Certifications or Technical Skills

Certified Public AccountantExperience with income tax compliance or provision software such as ONESOURCE or Corptax and tax research tools such as Checkpoint Edge or Bloomberg Tax ResearchFamiliarity with ETL software such as Alteryx and ERP applications and tools such as Oracle, HFM, Essbase, and SmartView

Preferred Type of Experience the Job Requires

Exposure to Retail or CPG industry issues
