Tariff Compliance Consultant – Chemical Products

Job Description

A Tradewin Chemical Classification Specialist will perform various roles within our team, including:

Assigning Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications for imported productsClassifying exported products according to Schedule BConducting research and interpreting Customs rulings to determine HTS classificationsUtilizing reference materials such as the HTSUS schedule and Explanatory Notes effectivelyCoordinating and communicating with both domestic and international client officesDeveloping and maintaining strong relationships internally and externallyPerforming additional trade-related tasks as assigned

QualificationsAssociate’s or bachelor’s degree in a scientific field such as biology or chemistryExperience with analyzing chemical structures, MSDS/SDS sheets, hazardous chemicals, chemical bonds, food processes, or ingredient analysisProven customer service and strong interpersonal skillsProficient with PC applications, including Microsoft Office suite; must be comfortable working with data in Excel. Experience with Power BI, MS Access, or SharePoint is a plusStrong verbal and written communication abilitiesExcellent analytical skills with the capability to document and explain processes clearly and logicallyStrong investigative and problem-solving skillsLaboratory experience is desirable
