Introduction

GlobalFoundries is looking for a highly motivated Engineer to work in the Global Tapeout Organization, based in Penang.  In this role you will support AE, CE, Process owners (TD/YE/PI) and Global Shuttle in tapeout activities.

Your Job

Execute tapeout activities to ensure timely and accurate tapeout, including but not limited to the following:

Provide layer generation, design service and data preparation to customer data

Verify customer’s prime die is correct version and data transfer is completed

Execute the layer generation, OPC, dummy pattern generation according to the Product Tapeout Request Form  

Perform checks on output data generated as per Design Rule or Generation Rule Specification

Prepare tapeout document and transfer generated data to mask vendor

Interface with mask vendor to ensure all data are received and feedback if there is any problems

Review and improve tapeout procedure/workflow for tapeout requirement.

Lead and execute improvement projects for tapeout requirement

Mentor and Coach/Train AE/Senior AE on tapeout activities

Prioritize tapeout activities for the team to ensure cycle time commitment met

Provide technical solutions to AE, CE, process owners (TD/YE/PI) to ensure customers' requirements are implemented.

Manage tapeout activities to ensure timely tapeout and meet customer expectation

Initiate projects for quality improvement

Responsible and accountable for complying with and implementing environmental, health, safety and security (EHSS) system, policies, procedures and guidelines that are applicable to your scope of work, thereby maintaining a healthy and safe workplace

Required Qualifications:          

Bachelor / Master’s degree in electrical, Electronics Engineering or equivalent

New colleage graduates can be considered at entry level

Min 2 years of experience in wafer fabrication or IC design environment.

Good inter-personal and communication skills are necessary.

Knowledge of design rule verification tools e.g. Calibre will be an added advantage.

Knowledge of Basic programming language will be an added advantage.

Familiarity with Linux, Python, Tcl and/or Cloud computing will be an added advantage.

Ability to interact effectively with both external and internal customers at all levels and from various cultural backgrounds.

Good problem analysis and solving skills.

Able to self-motivate and have commitment to work. Able to make decision within calculated risk
