TANNERY PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

JBS Tannery is now accepting applications for an immediate opening for a Production Superintendent.  This person would learn to manage two general foremen and help with the managing of six supervisors.  They would also oversee the quality of the product being produced in the plant.  This person would be responsible for the documentation that is essential in our business.Sequence of Basic Job StepsGeneral Description:Assist the Plant Manager to assure the plant is operating at optimum efficiency.  Make sure that all processed hides and leather meet established quality standards.  Assure that upkeep and maintenance of physical property, building, and equipment meet established policies.  Ensure that all company policies and goals are being adhered.Safety: Eliminate/Control industrial illnesses/injuries by using an ongoing evaluation all equipment, machines, and PPE.  Attend safety Meetings to identify and initiate training requirements to insure OSHA compliance.  Propose and initiate ergonomic improvements to reduce worksite illnesses.Oversee Quality Control inter-plant reports and personal inspection, be constantly aware of product quality.  Takes steps to correct deviation where possible.  Establishes reporting systems to monitor hide damage, variation from quality standards, troubleshooting, and corrective action.Personnel:  Established manning tables for departments based on expected levels of production in the hide and tanning operations.  Schedule the hours for each day in accordance with production requirements.Ensures that all aspects of the plant production are adhered.Must comply with all aspects of safety.Must be able to identify and take corrective action on any situation that may become a safety or production issues.Will assist other team members and will provide support for other team members to assure their success.Must have verbal communication skills needed to give close instruction to the new team members.Must have the ability to demonstrate written communication.  Must demonstrate good communication skills with management concerning safety, team performance, productivity, and any other issues. Job Qualifications:Minimum of 5-years of Management experienceWorking knowledge of MS Office and particularly MS ExcelExcellent communication skills including public speakingStrong Project Management Skills, and ability to manage multiple projects at the same timeLeather experience or in a similar field of a chemical/leather technician degree not required but preferredLeadership skillsBe able to train others on how to overcome challengesWorking knowledge of all of the following:Production OperationsKPI delivery and able to explain reasoning behind KPI numberThe applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:· Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;· Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;· 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;· Base salary range of $95,000 to $110,000 (based on experience)· Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
