T&O – Senior Controllership Analyst
Job Description SummaryThe Senior Controllership Analyst will be a key team member of the Technology & Operations (T&O) controllership team, providing leadership in T&O’s closing and reporting processes, including activities for an accelerated and simplified monthly close to deliver accurate, timely and GAAP-compliant financial information for use by internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include driving technical accounting compliance, maintaining financial and operational internal controls, leading accounting process simplification, and enabling operational controllership excellence. In addition to providing reporting and accounting guidance to the organization, the candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to execute on other strategic controllership and T&O initiatives.

Job Description

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for executing the monthly close process for the Supply Chain and Integrated Manufacturing including recording/reviewing journal entries, preparing/reviewing general ledger account reconciliations, providing variance analysis on statements, and supporting all internal and external reporting requirements (i.e. DR preparation).Provides controllership support to global core and affiliate shops, including overseeing close processes, financial reporting, and statutory and government reporting compliance.Delivers controllership support for T&O ERP implementations.Provides technical and operational accounting support and guidance to the T&O organization. Provides guidance on accounting for key operations including Inventory, Fixed Assets, and Advances.Ensures the integrity of financial reporting data through the implementation and execution of internal controls over financial reporting and serves as key contact for internal and external auditors.Drives consistent adherence to US GAAP, GE GAP, Government Accounting rules and GE Aerospace SOPs; addresses complex issues with technical accounting, government accounting and management.Researches issues, documents technical accounting positions, and presents on key decisions to management, SOX, and auditors.Partners with T&O Controller and other stakeholders to streamline overall close process and implement other strategic initiatives.Leverages Flight Deck to drive process improvement and lead simplification projects. Drives wing to wing process improvements, using bowler charts and KPI metrics to measure progress and success. Leads cross-functional teams in problem solving efforts.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university or college3-5 years of experience in accounting
