Our Team

From take-off to landing, Thales offers the most complete range of solutions to provide dynamic Air Traffic Services to support today's growing domestic and international travel requirements. Utilising this knowledge and experience Thales Australia will deliver a harmonised Civil/Military Air Traffic Management System (CMATS / OneSKY) in Australia to Airservices Australia and Defence. 

This will enable a new level of safety and efficiency, while also reducing delays for the travelling public and providing opportunities to improve environmental outcomes. OneSKY will transform Australia’s sky and we are proud to be partners in its delivery.

The Role

In this role you will work in an international multidisciplinary feature team focused on the ergonomic/UX design, development of the Air Traffic Management system.  You will be responsible for designing the solution via Mock-up (using FIGMA tool) in a co-engineering environment with the team and also Operational users.

This position is based on site in Melbourne, Australia and full visa and relocation support will be provided to the suitable candidate if based outside of Australia.

Some key responsibilities:

Attend the co-engineering of the Feature Team working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)Co-Design the Function via mock-up, including; requirements, capability description, functional behaviour and data exchanges (internal and external interfaces)Ensure the transversal constraints related to the function are considered (Human Factor, Safety, Performance, Security)Build and manage key relationships with OPS team and feature teamPresent the mock-up to feature team and OPS teamSupport the team during development

Qualifications

Degree in UX Engineering, ergonomist or related disciplinePostgraduate studies in Systems Engineering (Desirable)

Experience

Proven experience in UX Engineering (5+ years)Proven ergonomic experience (5+ years)Some Air Traffic Management experiences of the following functional areas:CoordinationSurveillanceAdaptation/ConfigurationInterpartition/SWIMProfileHMITowerSimulation and TrainingSafety Nets/Conflict DetectionAMAN/DMANExperience with Human Factors standards and practices
