Job Description
We are seeking a Systems Specialist to start up, commission, and re-commission customer systems utilizing DDC technology. The role involves providing solutions to mid-level systems problems, working with subcontractors, and delivering turnkey project delivery on small projects. You will be responsible for total system operation, including software loading, setup of trends, alarms, and reports, and performing site-specific training for operators. The position requires maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
ResponsibilitiesStart up, commission, and re-commission customer systems using DDC technology.Provide solutions to mid-level systems problems through troubleshooting or guiding others.Collaborate with subcontractors and other trades for proper system operation.Deliver turnkey project delivery on small projects with an 80-hour budget.Handle unitary systems such as VAV, FPB, FCU, small AHUs, and basic CW/HW systems.Complete all required commissioning documentation and maintain accurate As-Built drawings.Ensure timely completion of paperwork, including timesheets, expense reports, and project status reports.Operate total system from controllers to sensors, loading software and setting up trends, alarms, and reports.Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment such as multi-meters and network terminals.Conduct mid-level static commissioning of software programming.Provide site-specific training for owners/operators on the total system.Set up operator workstations with all associated software.Perform job database backups daily or as advised.Assist with project turnover to the Service Department.Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving work sites.Track and record job progress, keeping the Project Manager informed.Review customer systems and highlight areas for improvement to the Project Manager.Maintain a daily log of job-related activities.Adhere to safety standards with high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.Possess computer and networking skills to maintain laptops and mobile devices.Understand the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in building HVAC focusing on building automation controls.Field experience in the installation and operation of Automated Logic Controls.Ability to navigate third-party control systems and integrations.Experience with Automated Logic and Phoenix software, including WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, and LogicBuilder.Capability to handle simultaneous challenges across various disciplines.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with software like ViewBuilder, InterOp 3.02, Alert, Draw, EDB, Eikon, Supervision, and Accel Works.Work Environment
The position covers NY and NJ territories, with candidates responsible for their own vehicle expenses, reimbursed for daily travel costs. There is no need to report to Clifton daily; candidates can head directly to job sites. Once transitioned to full-time employment, additional benefits include a company car and credit card. The job involves climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs if necessary. Current projects are located along the 78 corridor, with potential work in Princeton, Asbury Park, and a large upcoming project in Newark. Typical working hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
