GFT is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to join our Transportation Group in Toronto, Ontario. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Toronto office.
What you'll be challenged to do:
As a Systems Integration Engineer, you will have the opportunity to engage in career-expanding activities, tackling complex problems and leading small projects. You'll work collaboratively with peers and senior-level professionals, managing the intersection of design and construction in commuter, light, or heavy rail transit systems. You'll enhance processes and provide technical expertise to stakeholders, fostering professional growth and preparing for future leadership roles.
In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following:
Follow company safety, quality, environmental, and commercial project management procedures relevant to tasks undertaken.Support the continuous development of Systems Integration Management tasks for ongoing projects.Deploy high standards of technical practice in the Construction Supervision of Transit Systems, maintaining working knowledge of relevant standards.Liaise and coordinate with Local Authority Departments to obtain information or approval on design projects.Provide technical consultancy on Integration, Validation & Verification, RAMS and other related System Engineering activities.Support the pursuit of work in the region and lead diverse systems engineering activities.
What you will bring to our firm:
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline.Light or Heavy Rail, Subway, or Transportation experience.Proficiency using IT applications, specifically DOORS Next Generation or similar requirements management tools.Ability to work independently and collaboratively, showcasing leadership and mentorship skills.Strong in complex problem solving, customer relationship building, and stakeholder management.
What we prefer you bring:
