Join the dynamic Thermo Fisher Clinical Next Generation Sequencing Division team for global career advancement in various roles like hardware/software engineers, biomedical engineers, chemists, molecular biologists, etc. Ideal for motivated individuals eager to innovate in gene sequencing technology.

The Systems Integration and Test Engineering Internship we offer is a 12-week summer program tailored for undergraduates pursuing degrees in computer science, biomedical engineering, and/or electrical engineering. Interns will be assigned to a 12-week project based on their skills that match the needs of the marketing analytics business.

What will you do?

Intern projects offer hands-on engineering experiences in a diverse workplace environment. You will collaborate with team members, explore different areas, and engage with various leaders.

Projects could focus on the following functions:

Develop test cases and a test plan based on the requirements and release schedules for a specific software or instrument releaseComplete test cases as described and detailed in the test planIdentify failures during test execution and log appropriate information needed to allow the developer to understand, reproduce, and address the issueConduct analysis of the root causes for customer blocking issuesBe involved in New Product development (i.e. vision system development on latest Sequencer platform)

Location/Division Specific Information

This position will be under the supervision of the Systems Integration and Test team in the Clinical Next Generation Sequencing Division at Thermo Fisher.

There are internship opportunities at the Guilford, CT R&D campus.

Actively working towards a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering as a full-time student.Preferred GPA of 3.5 or higherStrong desire and motivation to develop a career as a future leader in the biomedical instrumentationStrong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skillsResults oriented through initiative, ownership, and accountabilityApplicants must have unrestricted US work authorization (forms of CPT and OPT are restricted work authorization)

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $22.50–$38.50.
