Boeing supports a fleet of 275 Globemaster III Airlifters in a multiyear, multi-billion dollar sustainment contract.  This position leads a diverse group of employees performing engineering and technical activities focused on Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).  This role will evolve the C-17 MBSE culture, drive successful project execution across a wide range of projects including sustainment, obsolescence, and development statements of work.  

Position Responsibilities:

Develop and execute MBSE project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals.Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements.Develop, integrate, and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.Manage, develop, and motivate employees while leading the MBSE team.The successful candidate will have experience with communicating directly with customers both verbally and written and will have an engaged and servant leadership style.The employee will drive quality throughout the organization including via internal and external systems engineering reviews, a systems engineering mindset including focus on risk management, trades studies with prior knowledge of MBSE preferred.Experience with project scope, schedule, and budget mgt including earned value management will help the incoming employee provide value.This position also requires the skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.This Model Based Systems Engineering position reaches across the broad C-17 and BGS organizations so knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines and interaction across the functions will serve the candidate well.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

5+ years of experience in system engineering (e.g. Systems, Design, Architecture, Integration, Requirements or Test)3+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role (either as a lead or a manager)Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, or foreign equivalent

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)1+ years of experience working in MSOSA (Magic Systems of Systems Architecture) / Cameo or equivalent1+ years of experience as a CAM (cost account manager) in EVM (earned value management)Experience with mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams of junior and peer engineers.

Summary pay range: 147,050 – 198,950
