HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Architecting, engineering, and maintaining infrastructure and systems in a cybersecurity environment.Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plansDevelops technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentationEvaluates, develops, and delivers technical input to the systems engineering processValidates the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibilityMaintain system security and executes common practices and proceduresInstall, configure, test and perform routine maintenance on operating systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.Perform administrative operation and maintenance functions of server hardware and softwareAnalyze complex information and independently take appropriate actions to resolve problemsMonitor usage statistics and logsMaintain baseline configurations and performs modification of configuration settingsInstitute troubleshooting and incident response proceduresRemain current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applicationsPerform other common systems engineering and systems administration functions as warranted


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.Experience: 10+ years Required Technical skills:Linux and Windows Operating System experience Well versed with common Virtualization technologiesFull technical knowledge of all phases of systems engineeringDesired skills and abilities:VMWareCISCO networking devices (firewalls, routers, switches)Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow throughLocation: Herndon, VA (on customer site)US Citizenship Required
