Northrop Grumman’s Defense Sector is currently seeking a Systems Engineer level 2 or 3 to support our AARGM-ER missile program with our talented Advanced Weapons team.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Northridge, CA.  Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.

The ideal candidate will have experience in systems engineering lifecycle of missile / weapon system development program(s), supporting requirements development / verification activities and sell-off. They will have technical knowledge in one or more of the subsystems of missile/weapon system, e.g., RF/sensors, guidance, navigation, control, telemetry/communication, and airframe. This candidate will work directly with the program’s Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead supporting requirements management as well as requirement sell-off activities.

In this role, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to):

Support system requirements development, management, analysis, and traceability, to translate customer requirements and CONOPS into systems requirements, and further allocate to lower-level requirements.Perform functional analysis and systems trade studies for technical solutions with respect to concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance.Assist with the generation of well-defined and executable system and subsystem requirements documents, interface documents, and test and verification documents.Support system/subsystems integration, test, and requirements verification activities.Support systems engineering metrics and technical performance measurement tracking.Support the preparation of system engineering materials during System Requirements Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, System Verification Review, Test Readiness Review, and other program reviews as needed.Interface with inter-organizational management and external Customer to communicate technical briefing and program status.Support Program Management activities to ensure cost and schedule objectives are met; support program status efforts including Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tracking and Control Account Management (CAM) activities.Support the management of critical subcontractors developing and testing tactical missile technologies and delivery of quality products.

This position can be filled as a Systems Engineer (T02) or Principal Systems Engineer (T03) level. 

 
Basic qualifications for a Systems Engineer level (T02) are: 

Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of two (2) years of systems engineering experience with any exposure to requirements development and requirements verification activities, will consider a Masters and (0) years.Experience in systems engineering tools, such as DOORS, CAMEO.Experience in configuration management and product lifecycle management tool(s).Must have proven experience in communicating with peers in a methodical, detailed and process-oriented fashion.Must have demonstrated experience in providing solutions to a variety of technical problems under general supervision.Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Basic qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer level (T03) are: 

Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of systems engineering experience with any exposure to requirements development and requirements verification activities; will consider Master of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of three (3) years of systems engineering experience with any exposure to requirements development and requirements verification activitiesExperience in systems engineering tools, such as DOORS, CAMEO.Experience in configuration management and product lifecycle management tool(s).Must have proven experience in communicating with peers in a methodical, detailed and process-oriented fashion.Must have demonstrated experience in providing solutions to a variety of technical problems under general supervision.Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering approach.Experience working in the defense industry or weapon systems

Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Salary Range 2: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
