Systems Engineer IV

Are you ready to spearhead the planning, design, development, and execution of groundbreaking application and platform solutions in areas like security, service delivery, and data center management? As a Systems Engineer IV at Spectrum, you will drive the adoption of best-in-class operational practices across a complex back-office environment, focusing on deployment, incident management, monitoring and detection, capacity planning, forecasting, resiliency, hardening, and DR / HA. You will design corporate operational playbooks, implement platform enhancements, and lead the application and data center architecture initiatives. As a leader, you will foster staff development and champion security solutions for the organization.


WHAT OUR SYSTEMS ENGINEERS ENJOY THE MOST

Design, deploy, and manage the application and platform ecosystem to ensure network security, high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability for mission-critical business systems.Demonstrate competence in IT operations, including application monitoring, deployment, configuration management, performance optimization, capacity management, cloud computing, and datacenter operations.Collaborate closely with Architects and Engineers to represent the Engineering Department in designing and implementing new technologies.Provide excellent customer service and knowledge to support business growth and troubleshoot major APO and system issues.Lead design and operational efficiency efforts, document project requirements, and mentor Engineering personnel on networking systems.Research and identify technology opportunities and their application to the business as well as test and validate all new hardware and software for proper configuration and performance. 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

Experience:
Six (6+) years System or Server Administration experience Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience; May require Industry Standard Certifications  Technical Skills:
Infrastructure knowledge (Raw Iron, Steel Cloud, ElasticCloud, OpenStack, AWS)  Ability to work in a team environment  In-depth knowledge in areas of specialty for specific applications, and general knowledge of supporting or integrating applications creating platform ecosystems.  Basic Knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model  Expert knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.  Expert knowledge of software designing software, such as Visio  Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner  Ability to use personal computer and software applications (ex: Microsoft Office Systems knowledge (Linux, Unix)Ability to perform duties in a very fast-paced environment and ability to learn new technology quickly  Ability to use the following office equipment telephone, copier, fax, and calculator  Ability to use personal computer and software applications  General knowledge of OSI stack and application architecturesWorking Conditions:
Office Environment  May work in Lab or Data Center/Implementation Facility environment  24/7 Network Operations environment  Occasional travel as required

The base pay for this position generally is between $88,200.00 and $156,600.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
