Job Description
The Systems Engineer collaborates with customers to develop requirements, leveraging technical expertise in system development, analysis, and design of robust electro-mechanical systems. The role involves recommending optimizations, developing prototypes, and integrating systems through modeling and simulation efforts. The primary products include large cabinets with servers, data consoles, network communication equipment, and cabling for video transmission and distribution.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with customers to develop and refine requirements.Recommend system optimizations and improvements.Develop and integrate prototypes with other systems, including modeling and simulation efforts.Coordinate and perform additions and changes to hardware and software systems.Provide direct support for the day-to-day operations on hardware and software development.Participate in planning, design, technical review, and implementation for new hardware and operating systems.Maintain system design standards and provide technical guidance, training, and support to engineering staff.Conduct SE evaluations, trade studies, and recommend implementations.Transform customer requirements into detailed specifications.Assist in testing, analysis, and system improvements.Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems/Software Engineering (BSEE, Systems, or BSME).2-10 years of experience in hardware sets, including circuit boards, cabling, connectors, and electro-mechanical devices.Experience with ruggedized equipment, displays, consoles, and GUIs.Understanding of video distribution and transmission, particularly in submarine displays.Strong understanding of overall equipment and system architecture.Experience in collaborating with customers to develop requirements and solutions.Experience in developing designs and prototypes with engineering teams.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with military or navy projects is a plus.Experience with requirements tracking tools like DOORS.Project management and configuration management experience.Experience in environmental qualification and testing.Functional expertise in power analysis, mechanical design, AI, and other disciplines.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $62.00/hr.
