Job Description
As a Systems Engineer, you will collaborate with customers to develop requirements for our systems. You will utilize your technical expertise in system development, analysis, and design to create robust, complex electro-mechanical systems. You will recommend system optimizations, improvements, and develop prototypes that integrate with existing systems, including modeling and simulation efforts. Your work will primarily involve products such as large cabinets containing servers, consoles, racking, network/communication equipment, and cabling for video transmission and distribution.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and perform systems engineering evaluations and trade studies to recommend implementations.Transform customer requirements into detailed specifications.Coordinate and perform additions and changes to hardware and software, including investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing.Provide direct support in the daily operations of hardware and software development, including system utilization evaluation, response time monitoring, and operational problem detection and correction.Participate in planning, design, technical review, and implementation for new hardware and operating systems.Maintain system design standards.Provide technical guidance, training, and support to the engineering staff.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems/Software Engineering (BSEE, Systems, or BSME).2-10 years of experience in hardware setup, including circuit boards, cabling, connectors, enclosures, and electro-mechanical devices.Experience with ruggedized equipment, displays, consoles, and GUI's.Knowledge of video distribution and transmission, particularly in submarine displays and signal processing.Understanding of the overall architecture of equipment and systems.Ability to develop requirements and solutions through customer collaboration and creative thinking.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with military or navy projects is a plus.Experience in defense or aerospace companies is preferred.Excellent technical communication skills, both internally and externally.Flexibility and versatility to work in a small systems group and small to medium-sized company.Hands-on approach and team player attitude.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $62.00/hr.
