Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer Contractor to support internal DNS infrastructure for our client. This role is ideal for someone with a strong Linux background , experience in cloud-native environments, and a passion for infrastructure monitoring and automation. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance DNS systems and ensure reliable deployments. Key Responsibilities: + Provide application support and manage deployments across internal DNS systems. + Maintain and optimize Linux-based environments, primarily Rocky Linux 8.10 and Red Hat 9.x. + Monitor infrastructure using Splunk, including writing custom queries for performance and issue tracking. + Support and improve systems running on AWS and Kubernetes. + Collaborate with internal teams to drive improvements in DNS architecture and reliability. + Participate in scheduled deployment windows (some may occur during later hours; no overnight or on-call shifts). Required Skills & Experience: + 3+ years of experience in systems engineering or application support. + Strong proficiency in Linux (Rocky Linux and/or Red Hat). + Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AWS. + Proficiency in Splunk for infrastructure monitoring and query writing. + Experience with application deployments and troubleshooting in production environments. Nice to Have: + Experience with automation tools and scripting. + Familiarity with application servers and general application support practices.
