OverviewWe are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Defence engineering team, providing specialist support across communications and electronic systems. In this role, you will contribute to technical investigations, design reviews, and verification activities, ensuring systems meet Defence requirements, certification standards, and regulatory frameworks. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will evaluate technical packages, support configuration management, and provide specialist engineering input to enhance capability outcomes for the ADF. Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to: + Support the ARC-210 engineering team in delivering engineering support services to the ADF and wider Defence organisation. + Acquire a working understanding of the ARC-210 capability under the guidance of the Engineering Manager. + Exercise assigned engineering authorities and Technical Regulatory Authority delegations as directed. + Assess technical and design packages including scoping, planning, reviewing, providing recommendations, and contributing to implementation. + Apply engineering knowledge to identify risks and uncertainties, incorporating these into planning, decision making and priority setting. + Evaluate delivered materiel to ensure compliance with requirements, legislation, policy, and regulatory frameworks. + Participate in engineering design reviews, technical investigations and the preparation of support documentation. + Contribute to Verification and Validation (V&V) planning and test execution. + Work within CASG engineering policy, technical assurance frameworks, and the Contractor Engineering Management Plan. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Essential: + Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Communications, or Telecommunications) or recognised equivalent, eligible for Engineers Australia membership. + Demonstrated ability to develop and execute Systems Engineering Management Plans. + Experience in configuration management practices. + Experience in Verification and Validation (V&V) activities. + Familiarity with CASG engineering policy, technical assurance frameworks, and Defence certification standards. + NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance. + Strong oral and written communication skills. Desirable: + Chartered Professional Engineer status. + Experience with tactical and/or advanced communications networks. + Experience working within the Defence Capability Lifecycle and Land Materiel Regulatory Framework. + Laboratory and/or field-based testing of designs. + Experience developing engineering support documentation. + Defence experience (Uniformed, APS, or Contractor).
