Job Description
As a Systems Engineer, you will play a vital role in the Fleet System Engineering team, working closely with various Engineering disciplines, Business Managers, Project Managers, and customers. You will be tasked with navigating complex technical challenges in a dynamic project environment. Your responsibilities include technical design, evaluation, and delivery of major assignments supporting fleet operating Boiling Water Reactors (BWRs).
ResponsibilitiesPerform Extended Power Upgrade (EPU) evaluation for various Nuclear Steam Supply Systems (NSSS).Collaborate with a team of Engineers to support general system evaluations and address emergent requests.Lead and conduct calculations, design analyses, evaluations, and verifications for BWR safety and non-safety system functions.Utilize engineering knowledge and practical experience to analyze, investigate, and solve complex design problems and application issues.Perform evaluations from current state to EPU state for NSSS, requiring strong analytical skills.Engage in heavy interface with other engineering teams to perform necessary analysis to meet criteria.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering.5-10 years of experience in nuclear systems, specifically focused on BWRs.Experience with BWR NSSS systems.In-depth knowledge of major BWR NSSS systems such as CRD, Recirculation, ECCS, RWCU, SLC, Main Steam – MSIVs and SRVs, HPCI, RCIC, HPCS.Familiarity with setpoint calculation standards and regulations such as ISA 67.04.01 and RG 1.105.Proven technical skills in project management environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsCommercial Nuclear Power Plant Systems experience.Professional Engineering License or Advanced Degree from an accredited institution.Demonstrated ability to perform under multiple demands and changing priorities.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills, including customer interface experience.Minimum of 2 years of experience as a lead or lead contributor on major projects.Knowledge of BWR nuclear plant systems and analyses techniques, commercial plant outages, and nuclear industry practices.Work Environment
This position offers a fully remote work environment. The team is headquartered in Wilmington, with some presence in San Jose. Engineering colleagues are spread across the United States, working remotely.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $80.00/hr.
