Job Title: Project/Systems Engineer
Job Description

The Project/Systems Engineer provides expertise throughout the bid and full development lifecycle, ensuring project and statutory requirements are met while improving the effectiveness of the system design function. This role is responsible for system architecture, integration of solutions, and design for cost and manufacture. The engineer acts independently with minimal guidance, often serving as a mentor for junior staff, and contributes to key strategic approaches for future proposals and development activities.

ResponsibilitiesGuide the continued development of integrated systems in container-type enclosures, working closely with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.Conduct systems-level trade-space assessments and collaborate with the Project Manager on trade-offs.Develop and select key technologies for customers, contributing to strategic approaches for future proposals and development activities.Act as a referral point for complex problems, providing independent judgments based on significant experience.Mentor junior staff and support decision-making processes.Essential SkillsProficiency in systems engineering, requirements gathering, and analysis.Ability to perform validation and verification and document requirements.Experience developing CONOPS and Systems Architecture for electrical and mechanical systems.Understanding of requirements traceability and interface definition.Knowledge of mil standards and the ability to prioritize design requirements.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong attention to detail, integrity, and work ethic.Application of traditional systems engineering discipline and best practices.Familiarity with DOD systems engineering artifacts for various design reviews.Experience in planning, reviewing, and executing integration and test events.Willingness to travel up to 25%.8+ years of experience with a BS Degree in Systems/EE Engineering discipline.US citizenship required.Work Environment

The role involves developing a mobile workshop for Lithium-Ion batteries used in military training systems. Responsibilities include designing the system mechanically and electrically to ensure compatibility of components within the container. The role involves travel to customer sites, manufacturing sites, and subcontractor locations, including working with a subcontractor in Buffalo. The environment includes integrating components such as cabinets and fire control panels, supported by a third party, and ensuring functional carbon monoxide detectors.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
