About This Role:
Comscore their Product Operations team is hiring a Systems Engineer to monitor and maintain the health of the processing environment, support by troubleshooting applications, and provide process certification on both Linux and Windows Environments.
This role requires monitoring applications that run in various environments through internal dashboards, responsibilities for identifying issues from the internal dashboards, performing first level triage of the issues, and escalating as necessary until the issue is resolved. Problem solving will consume a large portion of time in this role, as it requires assisting multiple teams with resolving issues daily.
Technical and analytical skills will be required for this role. Responsibilities will increase over time as experience is gained to continue supporting production processing and improving the efficiency of the processing environment and applications running in it.
What You’ll Do:
Tier 1 Monitoring and Escalation support for internal systems and environmentsWorking with BigData processing environments (Hadoop, AWS, Greenplum, Windows) to monitor system health with respect to job processing volumeExecute custom requests and ad-hoc jobs in a timely manner and validate the resultsCommunicating and collaborating with teams around the globe in multiple countriesAutomating manual steps, alerts, and optimizing existing processes for execution efficiencyWhat You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fieldUnderstanding of Windows and Linux EnvironmentShould be able to write and understand basic SQL Queries.Knowledge of any scripting language (preferably Python)Windows & Linux command line experience, basic knowledge of XMLKnowledge of JIRA & GITAbility to follow complex and detailed instructionsSense of action and assertiveness to resolve issuesStrong data analysis and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communications skillsShift Timing:
