Join Amazon Connect's Telecom team as a Systems Development Engineer, where you'll help build and maintain the telecommunications infrastructure that powers millions of customer service interactions daily across 158 countries. You'll work on systems that handle voice routing through 40+ carriers, fraud detection, and telecom tooling that enables seamless communication experiences for Amazon Connect customers worldwide.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop and maintain systems for voice routing, SIP trunking, carrier integrations, and telecom fraud prevention across global regions.
• Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
• Build tooling and documentation that makes it easier for engineers to deploy, test, and operate telecom services across multiple AWS regions
• Identify and resolve issues in real-time communication systems serving millions of voice minutes daily, working with global carrier partners and internal teams
Basic Qualifications
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience with distributed operational health and performance monitoring systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with telecommunications, VoIP, or real-time communication systems (SIP, RTP, carrier protocols)
- Knowledge of networking concepts, distributed systems, and operational practices
- Understanding of system monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting methodologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
