Systems Analyst (Consumer Lending Systems) - Hybrid
**Overview:** We are seeking a skilled and motivated professional to support and enhance our vendor-supplied Consumer Lending decision engine software. This role is critical in ensuring our systems align with evolving business and customer needs. As a lead application designer, developer, and tester, you will work on moderately to highly complex system enhancements and provide day-to-day support. You’ll collaborate closely with internal Consumer Lending partners to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions using your strong analytical and technical skills. **Scope of Responsibilities:** This position is responsible for the development and support of vendor-supplied systems. You will operate independently on high-level systems analysis and technical project phases, and may mentor junior team members. The role involves regular interaction with internal technology teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Complete basic to complex systems analysis, design and development efforts using Agile methodologies to maintain vendor supplied systems. Play a key role as individual contributor on more complex projects. + Prepare clear, technical and functional specifications and update systems documentation for small to complex efforts. Evaluate and understand interrelationships and effects among programs and interfacing applications. Coordinate systems development tasks on small to complex-scope efforts or on specific phases of larger projects. + Plan, develop and execute test scripts verifying changes work as expected. Ensure issues arising from testing or implementation are escalated and resolved appropriately in an efficient and timely manner and that issues, incidents and questions are documented and reported as required. + Maintain a high level of technical aptitude and strong working knowledge of the supported application(s), development environment and client environments. + Provide guidance to less experienced personnel, including supporting functional specifications, technical designs and test scripts to ensure they meet project needs and adhere to best practices. + Ensure activity and system adherence to department and technology standards and procedures including currency of documentation requirements for assigned projects, as well as regulatory and compliance requirements. + Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. + Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand. + Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. + Complete other related duties as assigned. **Education and Experience Required:** + Associates’ degree, or equivalent work experience + 6 or more years’ systems development or related experience **Education and Experience Preferred:** + Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer & Information Sciences or Statistics + Complete understanding of the system development life cycle + Familiarity with application development support software and hardware platforms + Proficiency with pertinent project management, word processing, spreadsheet and database software + Demonstrated high aptitude for analysis and resolution of complex problems + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills + Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills + Sound understanding of the business environment and needs within the area of responsibility + Ability to understand technical, business and operational impacts of a project or problem + Able to lead or actively participate in design and specification walkthroughs + Understanding of the business supported, including its systems, products and related processes + Project management experience + Experience with pertinent business-specific applications or software **Work Model & Office Location:** + This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in-office per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) + Eligible candidates must live within commuting distance to 345 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14203 M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $82,783.41 - $137,972.36 Annual (USD).
