Our client in the downtown Cleveland, Ohio area is looking for a Systems Administrator who has experience with Palo Alto. This is a 6 month contract to hire position.
This position will be working onsite.
Position Summary:
The System Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud environments. This role assists in the day-to-day administration of network devices, virtual servers, security systems, and monitoring tools. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, VMware, Cisco networking, Splunk, cloud services (Azure or AWS), and PCI compliance support. The position offers an opportunity to work closely with senior IT staff and grow technical expertise in a dynamic hybrid environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in configuring, monitoring, and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls and security policiesSupport the operation of VMware vSphere/ESXi virtual environments, including basic provisioning and maintenancePerform routine administration of Cisco switches and routers, including port configurations and basic troubleshootingHelp maintain Splunk dashboards and alerts for system health and log monitoringProvide basic administration and support of cloud-based infrastructure (Azure or AWS)Support infrastructure and system changes in line with PCI-DSS requirements and assist with related documentationMonitor system performance and respond to service outages and incidentsParticipate in patching, updates, backups, and inventory managementMaintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and proceduresCollaborate with senior team members to improve infrastructure reliability and securityQualifications:
5 years of experience in system or network administrationWorking knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, VMware, and Cisco network devicesFamiliarity with Splunk or other log monitoring toolsExposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and interest in cloud operationsUnderstanding of security principles and willingness to support compliance initiativesStrong troubleshooting skills and ability to follow standard proceduresExcellent communication and organizational skillsIf qualified and interested, please submit a resume using the link below.
