Job DescriptionOverview:
This role is responsible for defining and validating the test environment, as well as integrating, verifying, and validating electrical systems in alignment with component interfaces and expected system behavior. The position requires significant experience in system testing, analysis, and issue resolution, while also providing operational leadership and technical expertise to engineering teams. At the expert level, the candidate will act as a subject matter expert, mentor, and project lead within the verification domain.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and validate the test environment.
Integrate, verify, and validate electrical systems based on component interfaces and expected system behavior.
Execute test and verification activities according to defined scope, plans, and directives.
Perform manual and automated testing of vehicle dynamics ECUs.
Interact with dSPACE Hardware-In-Loop simulators using ControlDesk and AutomationDesk.
Develop test plans, test cases, and automation test scripts.
Interface with the HIL maintenance team on hardware troubleshooting and plant model updates.
Prepare test reports and review status with software teams and stakeholders.
Initiate and participate in meetings related to software validation.
Participate in the realization and commissioning of new HIL simulators or upgrades of existing systems.
Collaborate with the global verification community.
Understand existing and future requirements for test equipment and methods.
Analyze test results, apply experience to incomplete frames of reference, and draw conclusions.
Resolve issues arising from test execution.
Provide operational responsibility for team delivery.
Ensure quality and readiness of system engineering deliverables prior to release.
Lead system engineering efforts within a technical team, securing adherence to defined methods, inputs, and outputs.
QualificationsExpert-Level Expectations:
Recognized subject matter expert in System Verification Engineering, typically with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Experienced project lead with the ability to coach, mentor, and educate others.
Known technical expert and go-to person for complex, discipline-related issues.
Strong T-shaped profile, with either deep discipline expertise or a broad, mature generalist skillset.
Contribute to project roadmaps and strategies, aligning with industry trends.
Clearly articulate value creation by connecting individual work to organizational strategy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in Automotive ECU verification.
Experience in HIL verification (preferably dSPACE).
Experience in test automation using Python.
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink HIL model development.
Experience with CANalyzer/CANoe tools.
Proficiency with version control tools.
Strong knowledge of software release management.
Knowledge of vehicle network architecture, communication, and diagnostic protocols (CAN, J1939, LIN, Ethernet).
Experience with ECU test tools.
Familiarity with Agile development and continuous integration practices.
Experience with Jenkins (preferred).
Knowledge of vehicle dynamics (preferred).
