We now have an opporutnity to recvcruit a highly motivated Hydraulic System Engineering Technician to work in our Digital Displacement innovation center located in Edinburgh, Scotland.
In this position, you will play a key role in the testing and development of Digital Displacement applications for mobile off-highway machinery, with a focus on test rig development, maintenance, operation and data acquisition.
Job Responsibilities
As our new Hydraulic System Engineering Technician, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Operate and maintain hydraulic test rigs, including setting up test parameters, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
· Conduct performance tests on prototype hydraulic systems and components, following established procedures and documenting results.
· Analyse test data and prepare reports summarizing findings and identifying potential issues.
· Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to test rig operation and hydraulic system performance.
· Assist engineers in the development and implementation of test plans.
· Fabricate and assemble prototype hydraulic systems and components.
· Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
· Support field testing of hydraulic systems on off-highway vehicles
Background & SkillsTo succeed in this position, we expect you to have:
· Degree or equivalent vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulics, or a related field, plus demonstrable relevant experience. A proven track record of working with hydraulic systems in a testing or maintenance capacity will be consider.
· Proven experience operating and maintaining test equipment.
· Strong practical skills in system assembly, troubleshooting and repair, preferably in hydraulics.
· Familiarity with data acquisition systems and data analysis techniques.
· Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics and technical drawings.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable would be experience of some of the following:
· Experience with CAN bus communication.
· Experience operating excavators or other heavy machinery.
· Basic knowledge of hydraulic control systems.
· Familiarity with 3D CAD software.
· Relevant hydraulic certifications, such as those offered by the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA).
