System Engineering Intern

Job Summary

Are you looking for an internship opportunity in Automated Quality ControI? Emerson has just the opportunity for you! We are seeking an Intern who will enhance the existing screwdriver control and vision inspection systems by integrating real-time feedback mechanisms and adaptive inspection profiles, thereby improving automation, accuracy, and quality control in the production line.

If you are a student looking to gain hands-on experience on industrial automation tools and vision inspection systems, develop skills in software-hardware integration, and learn to analyze and solve real-world manufacturing challenges, we would love to hear from you!

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Responsible for overseeing the successful execution of a project comprising the following two key components:

Screwdriver Control System Enhancement

The current system restricts the use of screwdrivers based on torque settings but requires manual user input to confirm activation. The project aims to design and implement a hardware-software feedback loop that automatically detects when a screwdriver is triggered. This will eliminate the need for manual acknowledgment, improving workflow efficiency and reducing human error

Automated Vision-Based Quality Check

The Pressure Production Line currently uses two laser machines and a single vision inspection station. Due to inconsistencies in laser output, the vision system struggles to apply a common inspection threshold, resulting in frequent false failures. The project will involve:

Creating distinct inspection profiles for each laser machine. Modifying the software to identify the laser machine used (based on serial number) and load the corresponding inspection profile dynamically.

Who You Are:
