**Amentum** is currently seeking a **System Engineer III** to support the PM Soldier Survivability (PM SSV) project office under Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier, Redstone Arsenal, AL. This position will afford you an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and cohesive team whose mission is to provide and rapidly deliver enhanced protection, individual equipment, and aviation life support capabilities, which provides combat overmatch and facilitates mission execution. **Job Duties and Responsibilities:** + Participate in systems engineering activities to include requirements analyses, functional analyses, design solutions formulation, system analysis and control, and generation and maintenance of systems architecture products + Apply system engineering principles and procedures to translate quantified needs/requirements into system performance parameters and the identification of system/item configuration + Formulates and issues systems engineering documents, processes, procedures, and milestones + Requires knowledge of the Systems Engineering Management Process and Implementation, as applied to the Department of Army/DOD Acquisition process throughout all life cycle phases; knowledge of DOD policies on Systems Engineering, Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD) and IPT Management; and ability to coordinate and negotiate design and engineering activities with other related programs and organizations. + Provides advice affective critical programs and technologies + Serves as a subject matter expert for some technical aspects of assigned program. + Translate military operational and mission requirements into practical system concepts and performance specifications. + Develop and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, engineering drawings, system interface requirements, and engineering changes. + Participate in post awards, program reviews, design reviews, and IPTs as the project engineer and/or technical expert on assigned programs. + Evaluate design efforts to ensure integration of all the engineering disciplines and adequacy of the analyses performed, bringing in additional technical expertise as needed. + Review test plans, procedures, and reports for technical adequacy on assigned programs, for both Government and contractor tests, as well as all failure reports. + Review and evaluate system performance against specification requirements, monitor and assess field performance, and assess risk of meeting user and specification requirements. + Initiate engineering change proposals and waivers/deviations as required, and conduct physical and functional configuration audits. + Review program management documents to ensure accuracy and adequacy of technical content. **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and ten (10) years of relevant experience. + Must have an Active US Government Secret Clearance. Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Government Clearance. + Experience serving as a subject matter expert for systems engineering + Must have the ability to lead engineering efforts on assigned programs with minimal oversight from the government lead.
