Kforce has a client in Fulton, MD that is seeking a System Engineer with a strong background in technical infrastructure, project delivery, and operational oversight to assist with ongoing server/storage modernization efforts, VMware upgrades, and operational process improvements. Responsibilities: * Collaborate with Vendors and internal stakeholders to finalize the deployment of Cisco UCSX and Pure Storage platforms * Evaluate the current Dell PowerStore, Isilon, and other legacy storage assets still under support * Produce a decommission or repurpose plan aligned with enterprise data retention and business continuity goals * Facilitate inventory tagging, data migration assistance, and vendor coordination as needed The System Engineer will oversee planning and execution of VMware workload migrations, ensuring: * High availability and minimal downtime * Comprehensive SOPs for backup, monitoring, and failover * Documentation of final architecture and configurations
