What you’ll do

As a System Engineer you have key role to Vodafone IT strategy for Upgrades/Uplifts of Applications and Systems. You will be responsible for the systems roadmap, the uplift projects execution and supervision.  

More specifically you will:
•    Ensure the technical delivery of projects related to upgrading Database and Operating System 
•    Correlate applications and assets against IT strategy and modernization 
•    Track all systems and assets subscriptions (extended support, on demand extensions) 
•    Ensure the systems consistency across their lifecycle 
•    Decommission resources that are no longer needed 
•    Collaborate closely with other IT teams, Network department and Group teams 
•    Consult and support internal teams on vulnerability assessments and remediation planning.
•    Advise on system hardening and secure configurations
•    Provide guidance and evidence for security audits
•    Assess risks and advise on mitigation for Shadow IT applications

Who you are

•    At least 2 years of experience in infrastructure, project management, systems lifecycle management  
•    Strong administration & delivery experience with VMware, Oracle/MSSQL DB, Windows/RHL, AD 
•    Basic IP/LAN Network principles knowledge  
•    Knowledge of Jira & MS Office suite 
•    Master or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics & Telecommunications or any other similar field 
•    Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills, with high-level of creativity 
•    Sharp and solution orientated thinking 
•    Self – motivated, strong time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple balls 
•    Ability to work in a fast-moving team which values communication & team spirit 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in both Greek & English, especially with technical audience
