System Architect – Azure Web Services & Data Platform (Remote)

**Overview**
GovCIO is seeking an experienced System Architect – Azure Web Services & Data Platform (Remote) to lead the design, integration, and lifecycle management of a secure, public-facing web platform built onAzure Web Services, supported by dynamicPower BI reporting, robustdata pipelines, andcompliance-driven operations. This role is critical for architecting scalable, secure solutions that meet both business and federal security requirements, including ongoingATO renewals.This position will be fully remote located within the United States.
**Responsibilities**
+ Leads the planning, design, and installation of equipment,leveragingexpertisein engineering, programming, and advanced instrumentation.
+ Contributes to system conceptual design and documentation of development concepts.
+ Collaborate with cloud providers, and internal teams, to enhance network efficiency
+ Architect and oversee the end-to-end design of apublic-facing Azure web platform, including APIs, front-end/back-end integration, authentication layers, and hosting configurations.
+ Establishes system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test protocols.
+ Lead the architecture and governance ofPower BI reporting infrastructure, ensuring optimized data sourcing, modeling, and publishing for internal and external users.
+ Design and managedata sourcing, ingestion, and transformation processes, including pipelines using tools such asAzure Data Factory (ADF), SQL, SHIR, and other Azure-native services.
+ Designs and implements cloud-based network architectures to support businessobjectives.
+ Developing andmaintainingdetailed network diagrams and support procedures in partnership with Network Architects.
+ Monitoring network availability andcapacityutilizationto meet committed availability and quality of serviceobjectives.
+ Ensure all system componentscomply withfederal and organizational security standards required forATO (Authority to Operate) **,** including documentation, vulnerability scanning, and control implementation.
+ OverseeATO renewal processes, coordinating with security, operations, and audit teams tomaintainongoing authorization and manage Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) items.
+ Provide architectural oversight for performance, scalability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization across Azure resources.
+ Collaborate with development, DevOps, data, and stakeholder teams to align architecture with program goals and user needs.
+ Establish and mTroubleshooting and resolving network issues across development, testing, and production cloud environments.
+ Working with Cloud Engineers and Architects on issues related to cloud infrastructure design and architecture.
+ Maintain architectural documentation, roadmaps, and diagrams to support project planning and governance reviews.
**Qualifications**
**Required Skills and Experience**
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, InformationTechnologyor a related field. (or commensurate experience)
+ 12+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent professionalexpertise.
+ Proven experience architectingAzure-based web servicesand scalable cloud platforms for public and hybrid users.
+ Deep understanding ofdata architecture, including ETL/ELT frameworks, Power BI integration, and real-time data workflows.
+ Experience with virtual and/or cloud-based servers and applications.
+ Familiarity withfederal ATO frameworks(e.g., FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, FISMA) and experience with ongoing compliance maintenance.
+ Proficiencyin tools such as Azure AD, Key Vault, API Management, ADF, Azure SQL, and Azure Monitor.
+ Experience with Power BIgateway management, DAX optimization, and data governance best practices.
**Preferred Skills and Experience**
+ Experience working in an Agile environment.
+ Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to present architectural solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
**Clearance Requirements**
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust Clearance.

**Posted Pay Range**
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
**Posted Salary Range**
USD $130,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.
