As a member of the virtualization team, the Virtualization Administrator works on monitoring and testing performance for potential bottlenecks and identifying solutions. They oversee the deployment and maintenance of virtualization technologies and develop and implement policies procedures and standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implement and document end-to-end solutions using various Virtualization platforms such as VMware, Nutanix, OpenShift, and Azure AVS.Ability to identify and communicate escalations to other teams.Configure and manage virtual and storage environments.Experience with converged and hyper-converged systems.Multi-site VMware, vSphere and vCenter management and administration.Install and configure ESXi servers.Report on capacity management and usage.Improve and maintain customer satisfaction.Suggest new technologies and provide recommendations to management through research of industry standards and best practices.Responsible for sharing 24x7 on call rotation duties with other team members.Assess and make recommendations to improve HA/DR configuration.This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. 3+ years in managing VMware infrastructure, installing ESXi 8.0 servers and configuring vCenter.Strong experience with Nutanix, Openshift or other Virtualization platforms.Customer service-oriented attitude and great time-management skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies.Clear and concise communication skills.A relevant bachelor's degree or comparable work experience.Understanding of DevOps.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Git, GitLab/GitHub and Gitlab CI/CD pipelines.Understanding of design for scalability, performance, security and reliability.Experience working with YAML, containers, and Docker.Knowledge of operating systems including Linux, preferably RHEL7+, Windows and Solaris.Experience working within a SAFe/Agile development framework.Knowledge of a programming language such as Python or PowerShell.VMware certification or other relevant certifications.Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not transfer or sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (such as an H-1B visa) for this opportunity.
Additional InformationExpected base salary: $80,000 to $150,000
