Job Summary

The primary function of the System Administrator is to set up, administer, monitor, and support the cloud, windows or Unix infrastructure. They provide technical assistance with cloud platforms specializing in Azure. They support and maintain servers, virtual desktop’s identity management and any additional cloud functionalities. The position will also provide additional support for on-premises devices such, but not limited to, PACS servers and imaging modalities.

Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization in local and cloud environments. Install, configure and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes in local and cloud IaaS providers. Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues. Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure. Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures. Assist with the management of network servers and technology tools with the network engineer. Provide escalation to the technicians. Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements. Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups. Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance. Troubleshoot issues and outages. Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed. Upgrade systems with new releases and models. Researching and recommending new approaches to improve the networked computer system. Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
