Job Title: Synthetic Aperture Radar Payload System Engineer
Job Description

As a Synthetic Aperture Radar Payload System Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining requirements for the SAR antenna sub-system and other payload components. Your role will involve managing requirements, ensuring traceability between parent and child requirements, and providing justifications. You will lead or coordinate the development of system architecture and performance budgets at the sub-system level, supporting cross-functional teams to develop a design architecture that fulfills mission objectives.

ResponsibilitiesDefine and maintain requirements for SAR antenna sub-system and other payload components.Manage requirements, including allocation and traceability, and provide justifications.Lead or coordinate the development of system architecture and performance budgets.Support or coordinate cross-functional teams to develop design architecture.Prepare for and participate in design reviews, creating technical documentation and analysis reports.Create and maintain verification plans, traceability matrices, and detailed test requirements.Develop and update tracking matrices for all hardware involved in product development.Create test plans and support test activities from planning through production phases.Review test data at both unit and system levels, assess non-compliances, and contribute to automated data post-processing and management efforts.Essential SkillsBachelor or MSc degree in electrical, physics engineering, or equivalent.At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.Experience with SAR & RF system designs, phased array & radar antenna, beam forming, and various antenna parameters.Experience with system testing and facilities associated with radiated tests (e.g., Planar Near Field Range).Knowledge of concepts of space and/or ground segment design antenna applications, specification, and integration methodologies.Proficiency in Matlab & Simulink and other simulation tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with requirements management tools such as Windchill.Previous experience in space programs.Experience creating or using models and/or simulation software.Demonstrated capability to efficiently work with little to no supervision.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French.Work Environment

This is a remote position with occasional travel (20-25%). The candidate must be able to support the EST time zone.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $115.00/hr.
