Syndicate Operations_Vice President_Product Support & Services ISG

We're seeking someone to join our team as a Vice president in ISG equity operations to supervise and lead the GCM Syndicate Operations team supporting the global GCM businesses and the related regional Syndicate Operations teams in Europe APAC, and North America


In the Operations division, we partner with the GCM business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships.  This is a Team Manager position at Vice President level role. The team provides operational support to one of the firms principal businesses, ensuring the successful execution of high value GCM premier transactions. These include Primary IPO offerings, large secondary equity block, follow-ons and debt issuance. The department has accountability and responsibility for front to back operational processing, risk governance and provides specialized support of complex GCM trades.


The Mumbai Syndicate Operations team consists of nine full-time staff responsible for middle office functions for Equity and Fixed Income GCM products. Due to contact with material non-public information (MNPI), Syndicate Operations are private side employees. The Mumbai Syndicate Operations team are part of a global team and have close working relationships with their counterparts in NY, Baltimore, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Tokyo and London.

What you'll do in the role:

Develop staff, lead projects and control deployment of resources, owning management tools/methods such as work queues, checklists, depth charts and calendars

Set direction and expectations for your team(s), defining training plans and transfer of expert knowledge to contribute to team output and development

Contribute to business plan for area, establish risk/contingency plans, raise and address issues with urgency when required

Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations

Manage and oversee global Syndicate Operations functions supporting all GCM regions.

Partner with the global Syndicate operations leadership team, on strategic automation and capacity objectives

What you'll bring to the role:

Strong relationship building skills serving as a role model for client service

Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget

Experience in managing teams, enhancing control, continuous improvement and reducing operational risk

Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you

Experience in running and building successful middle office operations teams

Effective written and verbal communicator

Proficient and expected knowledge of financial product and markets

At least 8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
