Job Title: Switchboard Operator

Schedule:   Night Shift - 11:00PM - 7:00AM                       
                

SUMMARY:

The Switchboard Operator contributes to overall patient satisfaction by consistently delivering outstanding customer service to patients, providers and customers throughout their calling experience. Aims to always resolve customers issue; collaborates with physician offices and clinical departments to update and input on-call schedules.  
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Call Management. Answer incoming/outgoing/internal calls to the switchboard, promptly and courteously giving priority to STAT and/or emergency calls; connect calls to appropriate personnel; monitor emergency radio, fire panel and other alarm panels; provide over-head page for all internal and external disaster situations (code calls and drills)General Assistance. Provide patient information to customers via computer access and printed reports; enter department schedules, updating as needed; miscellaneous duties as requested by the manager
 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong verbal and written communication skills including good voice quality, good diction, and articulation are required.
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Two (2) years customer service experience, preferably in a fast pace environment settingDemonstrated compassion, empathy and customer service skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent diction and articulationAbility to multitask and work under rigorous pressureProficient in use of computers; must be able to type a minimum of 35 wpmBilingual preferred; able to pass a language proficiency assessment within 30 days of hire
