We're seeking a Full-Time Seasonal Swing Sous Chef to join our talented kitchen team at the Bar Harbor Inn and Spa. In this role, you'll help oversee kitchen operations, create exceptional dishes, and work closely with our Executive Chef to ensure an unforgettable dining experience for our guests. The Swing Sous Chef position offers 5 days a week, 10–12 hours per day with a competitive pay range of $23–$25 per hour. Key Responsibilities: + Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations. + Prepare and execute high-quality dishes with consistent presentation. + Lead and mentor kitchen staff to ensure efficiency and professionalism. + Collaborate on menu planning and contribute creative dish ideas. + Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. + Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of ingredients and supplies. + Support food preparation for banquets, events, and peak service periods. Qualifications & Skills: + At least 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or higher in a restaurant, hotel, or similar setting. + Strong culinary skills with knowledge of diverse cooking techniques. + Proven leadership abilities and a collaborative approach. + Excellent time-management and organizational skills. + Ability to work 10–12 hour shifts, 5 days per week, including weekends and holidays. + Positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to excellence. Performance Measurement: 90-day performance review, leadership effectiveness, quality of food preparation, and team collaboration.
