**Job Summary**
This position is on the SWIFT Module Support team, which supports the accounting modules in the state’s accounting system (SWIFT). This position is primarily responsible for providing functional support for agencies who perform accounting work outside of SWIFT. In addition, this position provides consultation, advice and functional assistance to state agencies regarding the effective and efficient use of SWIFT, conducting research, design and testing for enhancements and upgrades, and consulting with technical staff in analyzing and resolving system application and operational issues in the accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger and commitment control/budget modules.
This position will support state agencies by:
+ Entering account receivable, billing, general ledger and commitment control/budget transactions into SWIFT.
+ Providing consultation regarding the system and related business processes.
+ Assisting in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of SWIFT to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and the system is operating efficiently.
+ Gathering end-user requirements and communicating specifications to technical developers.
+ Working with developers to create solutions that meet user requirements.
+ Testing customizations, enhancements, interfaces, and reports and documenting test results.
+ Assisting with system software upgrades.
This position will work closely with all SWIFT functional and technical teams as well as other divisions within Minnesota Management and Budget.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ A minimum of two (2) years professional level experience with SWIFT or another complex accounting system.
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related degree with accounting coursework may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
+ Master‘ s degree in accounting or related degree with accounting coursework may substitute for 18 months of experience.
+ Experience in using data analysis tools (i.e., querying databases using SQL, building Microsoft Access databases, or developing reports using a business intelligence tool such as OBIEE) to demonstrate knowledge of data and table structures.
+ Proven analytical, organizational, and research skills to solve problems and initiate corrective actions.
+ Experience analyzing and understanding complex business processes.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers, stakeholders, and co-workers.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor‘s degree in accounting or a related degree with accounting coursework.
+ Experience working with the financial modules in SWIFT or another PeopleSoft accounting system.
+ Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
