SVP, Applications Development Group Manager (Hybrid)

The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

This is a Full stack technology role with strong hands-on experience in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. You will be part of a talented software team that works on franchise-critical applications. The Group Manager will be responsible for achieving significant business results, understanding client requirements and leading the development team on the design, implementation and delivery while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, providing authoritative advice including responsibility over technical strategy.


Responsibilities:

Drive the efforts on  requirements gathering, strategy & solution design, roadmap, forecast, planning and build out leading the development/engineering activitiesEnsure our software platforms are compliant with Citi's security and SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) processesWork with a wide variety of business and tech teams and help them drive towards an everything-as-code and a codified controls mind-setSupport and drive cultural change, instigating critical thinking about controls and processes and encouraging a culture of continuous improvementConnected to latest technologies, like Generative AI, and keen to put them in practicePragmatic, and a creative approach to managing riskA growth mindset and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environmentShows enthusiasm and develops trust through empathy An advocate of inclusion and diversity in every wayConnected to latest technologies and keen to put them in practiceA self-starter with the ability to work effectively in teams and remotelyManage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for teamProvide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end resultsProvide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sourcesInfluence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessaryAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

15+ years of application development industry experience, with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience specializing in the leadership and hands-on development of franchise-critical applicationsExperience with complex system integration projectsDeep understanding on design Highly Available and Highly Scalable SystemsExperience on working on Cloud applicationsExperience in code testing toolsFamiliar using AI tools to improve the development team’s productivityExperience managing global technology teamsWorking knowledge of industry practices and standardsConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work well independentlyExperience working with business analysts, database administrators, project managers and technical architects in multiple geographical areasStrong problem-solving skills, business acumen, and demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences. Skilled in customer and leadership presentationsExperience with Agile Software Development Lifecycle methodology and related tooling. For example -JIRA, ScrumExperience in the Financial Services industry is added advantage

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMaster’s degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$156,160.00 - $234,240.00
