The Opportunity:
This role sits within the Strategy and Solutions Chapter, which encompasses a number of different strategic and innovative teams. Our purpose is to guide strategic priorities, advance value delivery through solutions and digital excellence, govern compliance and drive sustainability to deliver continuous improvement and strengthen Global Procurement’s impact on the wider Roche organization.
Within the Strategy and Solutions Chapter, the Global Procurement Sustainability, Compliance & Risk team is focused on enabling Roche to deliver against its Sustainability ambitions and targets, while ensuring a resilient and compliant supply chain.
You will report to the Sustainable Procurement Lead, within the GP Sustainability, Compliance & Risk Team.
As Sustainability Manager in the Sustainable Procurement Team, you will bring structured thinking, facilitation, analysis and project execution. Using your specialized knowledge and expertise in sustainability, the role actively drives to embed Sustainability in Procurement processes, tools and systems.
You will collaborate with internal procurement, business, finance, and other relevant colleagues to understand needs and gather feedback to develop, enhance, or deploy functional enabling services and solutions that increase procurement's effectiveness and efficiency.
You will work closely with other team members, to align on requirements, develop, validate, and deploy services, solutions, and frameworks to stakeholders and the broader Procurement function.
As a Sustainability Manager, you will support Global Procurement and the China market in particular, where you will play a variety of roles according to your experience, knowledge, and general business requirements, including but not limited to:
Actively support designing, enhancing, and embedding Sustainability in Global Procurement processes, systems and tools throughout the entire procurement lifecycle
Enable, upskill and coach Procurement Colleagues so they can efficiently support the business to make sustainable buying decisions
Engage and partner with suppliers on sustainability related aspects
Continuously support improvements within Roche’s supply chain in alignment with Roche’s sustainability strategies and ambitions, through research, education and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate cross-divisional and cross-functional to leverage synergies and ensure impactful implementation
Support preparation of clear and engaging stakeholder update materials
Main point of contact and primarily responsible for Sustainability efforts in China (ca. 40-50%)
Who you are
You hold a university degree, preferably in business or life science.
You have 5+ years procurement, supply chain, or management consulting experience.
Solid experience of healthcare sustainability and supplier management
Strong experience in project management and interactive skills, including change management and process improvement with direct experience in delivering complex business process / organizational change projects.
Strong communication and influencing skills, including strong ability to simplify, i.e. explain complex or higher complexity capability information to others or collect/translate moderate complexity stakeholder requirements in situations requiring alignment and consensus.
Technical and analytical experience in the context of supply chains and sustainability
You demonstrate curiosity, active listening and a willingness to experiment and test new ideas when appropriate, with the focus very much on continuous learning and improvement.
You are open-minded and inclusive, generously sharing ideas and knowledge, while being receptive to ideas and feedback from others.
You are fluent in English to a Business level, as well as Mandarin
