In this position...

Ford Land Energy Infrastructure & Engineering team is seeking a passionate professional to join us as the Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Lead to be part of the Ford Land Energy Team.  This dynamic individual will lead the tactical implementation of performance contracts, carbon reduction initiatives through energy efficiency actions and corporate sustainability goals on a global basis.

As the Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Lead,  you will be a key leader in our journey toward a more sustainable future. You will develop and implement innovative strategies that align with our corporate responsibility goals, including 100% use of Carbon Free Electricity across all Ford facilities by 2035. You will be coordinating across teams including legal, procurement, and manufacturing to implement performance contracting.

The ideal candidate is a transformational partner who has a unique blend of problem-solving capabilities and the ability to identify strategic opportunities for competitive differentiation in both the energy and sustainability markets.

 

 

You'll have…

Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Environmental, Civil, Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical. 7+ years' experience in engineering/design, facilities operation and maintenance activities.   Demonstrates clear knowledge of carbon footprint analysis and data management/reporting of performance for cost and energy efficiency Experience in development of projects to improve carbon footprint from start to finish (concept development, financial analysis, presentation and seeking corporate authority to execute projects, contract development and execution and implementation) Past participation in corporate affairs and policy development for local, state, regional and national energy policy regulatory and legislative matters

Even better, you may have…

Experience delivering energy efficiency projects through performance-based contracting Strong people relationship management, creativity, negotiation and organizational skills Demonstrated proficiency to manage integrated engineering knowledge. Strong analytical capabilities.  Certifications and licenses: Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEPP)

What you'll do...

Develop and negotiate commercial frameworks for Ford’s participation in grid decarbonization projects Develop and grow relationship with key suppliers and other stakeholders Lead reporting and communication of carbon reduction, energy efficiency and sustainability metrics with both internal and external stakeholders Support continued evolution and execution of Ford's carbon reduction and energy efficiency strategy globally Lead development of energy efficiency projects, including contract negotiations, execution, and project delivery Drive the ideation, scoping, and design phase of sustainability inclusions into building refreshes Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and programs, tracking progress toward established goals and targets Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into operational processes and decision-making Stay informed on the technical, market, and regulatory developments in the decarbonized electricity and broader carbon industries
