Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey operations from our new Greenville office. This role involves managing a field crew, ensuring the quality and accuracy of data collection, maintaining safety standards, and delivering reliable survey data to support civil engineering and geomatics projects. The position requires extensive outdoor work across various terrains and weather conditions, with occasional overnight travel.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and operate a field survey crew with a focus on precision, safety, and efficiency.Organize daily field activities and direct crew members effectively.Maintain a safe work environment and ensure proper care of equipment and vehicles.Accurately collect and record field data using advanced survey instruments.Deliver collected data to the office promptly and maintain detailed records of work and expenses.Ensure all work complies with regulatory standards and supports strong client relationships.Essential Skills & Experience5–6 years of progressive experience in survey field operations, including at least 2 years as a crew chief.Proven ability to train and lead new surveyors.Proficiency with survey equipment including total stations, data collectors, and GPS systems.Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.Preferred QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Familiarity withTrimbleequipment.Experience intransportation surveys.CST (Certified Survey Technician) certification.EFB (Electronic Field Book) data collection experience.Strong technical and organizational skills with attention to detail.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in our Greenville, SC office, offering the opportunity to grow in an emerging market within the civil engineering and geomatics industry. The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
