Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Survey Project Manager to join our dynamic team and help expand our survey practice across Southern California. This role is focused on delivering high-quality survey projects that meet client expectations, are completed on time, and stay within budget. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a passion for innovation. You’ll manage a variety of survey services—including control, boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys—while leveraging advanced geospatial technologies such as GPS, terrestrial laser scanning, unmanned aerial systems, mobile mapping, and hydrographic mapping systems.
ResponsibilitiesLead and manage survey projects from proposal through completion, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.Develop and maintain strong client relationships across existing and emerging markets.Create tactical action plans for project execution and client development.Serve as a pursuit champion, coordinating efforts with business development managers, regional leaders, and marketing teams.Identify and prioritize target clients; establish and support regional client development initiatives.Contribute to the development of regional business development budgets and strategies.Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.Oversee and mentor field and office survey staff, fostering professional growth and technical excellence.Perform and review survey calculations and ensure quality control throughout project phases.Write proposals and develop budgets for new and ongoing projects in California.Essential SkillsLicensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) with demonstrated expertise in managing survey projects.Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation Open Roads, and other land surveying software.Strong leadership skills with a commitment to staff development and mentoring in geospatial techniques and principles.In-depth knowledge of survey methodologies, technologies, and best practices.Familiarity with state and county mapping requirements in California.Strong computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.Skilled in proposal writing, budget development, and project execution.Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and across departments.Additional Skills & QualificationsProject experience Prefer $500K - $2M in yearly revenueAbility to self-manage projects and communicate effectively with clients.Mentor junior staff.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $165000.00/yr.
