Job Title: Survey Field Technician 1Job Description As a Survey Field Technician, you will receive on-the-job training and gain valuable experience in the field, not behind a desk. You will work with advanced technologies such as GPS, LiDAR, laser scanning, and drones to support the acquisition and mapping of 3D spatial data for infrastructure and land development projects. Responsibilities + Load and unload survey equipment and supplies daily. + Clean and maintain survey equipment, including GPS, Total Stations, and levels. + Learn to operate survey instruments and data collection devices. + Set up survey tripods for backsite and foresight operations. + Perform line cutting and assist with safety setup and flagging. + Conduct vehicle pre-checks and maintain vehicle cleanliness. + Assist with monthly equipment inventory. + Support Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services as needed. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + High School Diploma or GED. + Valid driver's license with a good driving record. + Ability to use standard survey equipment as instructed; training will be provided. + Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to a 2-week continuous stay. + Ability to work outdoors in all climates. + Capability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only). + Ability to stand and walk on smooth and uneven terrain for extended periods. + Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical activities such as bending and squatting. + Good oral communication skills and attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with construction, GPS, land surveying, hand tools, GPR, and LiDAR is advantageous. Work Environment Work will be conducted throughout Central Florida, supporting private and government projects, with most work related to FDOT. You will be working outdoors in various climates and may need to travel up to 50% of the time. Equipment such as GPS, Total Stations, and drones will be used regularly.
