Job Title: Survey Crew Member
Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Survey Crew Member to make precise measurements to determine property boundaries and provide data relevant to the shape and contour of the Earth’s surface for engineering and construction projects.

ResponsibilitiesPerform field work related to all types of surveys, including boundary surveys, construction layout, topographic mapping, planimetric mapping, corridor surveys, and high accuracy control networks.Accurately run and adjust survey instruments including GPS, robotic total stations, levels, and other electronic measuring devices with data collecting capabilities.Conduct mathematical calculations, and read and understand survey map data and construction plans.Take accurate and legible survey notes and perform simple note reduction and checking.Essential Skills3+ years of experience operating survey instruments and collecting information in the field and performing field computations.Demonstrated knowledge of principles of survey measurement, staking, and marking.Knowledge of math, geometry, and trigonometry.Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrivate sector project experience.Ability to obtain a Professional Surveyor license.Degree in a relevant field.CAD skills.Work Environment

The role involves very little office work and primarily working in the field at job sites. Core hours are Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm, with the potential for overtime and weekend work as needed. The home office can be based in either Brighton or Auburn Hills, but daily travel to work sites throughout metro Detroit is required. Employees working more than 40 hours a week, including weekends, are eligible for double time on Saturday and Sunday. Field gear reimbursement of $300 and footwear reimbursement of $150 are provided. Crew Chiefs have assigned trucks to take home.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
